Microbiologists Beware!
Washington,DC -
According to the report, most if not all of the microbiologists killed were involved in DNA sequencing work aimed at developing drugs that will fight pathogens based on the pathogen’s genetic profile. Theoretically such drugs could be developed for a class of people sharing a particular genetic marker. Alternatively, the same process could be reversed to develop a pathogen that could infect a class of people sharing a particular genetic marker. A class of people sharing a genetic marker would be a group with a particular racial or ethnic background. The FBI report specifically cites the deaths of the following microbiologists:
Dr. Don C. Wiley:
Dr. Wiley was last seen alive at midnight on November 15, 2001 leaving the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Advisory dinner held at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, TN. His rental car was found four hours later, abandoned on a bridge across the Mississippi River, the keys still in the ignition. His body was found on December 20, snagged on a tree along the Mississippi River, 300 miles south of Memphis. The cause of death was ruled accidental, the result of massive injuries suffered in the fall from the bridge.
Dr. Robert M. Schwartz:
Co-workers became worried when he did not show up for work on December 10, 2001 and called police. He was later found stabbed to death in his home in Virginia and with an "X" cut into the back of his neck. Although his 19 year old daughter has been arrested for his death, she continues to deny any involvement in her father’s death.
Dr. Benito Que:
Dr. Que was found comatose near his car on a street adjacent to the University of Miami Medical School on November 12, 2001. The police thought he may have been the victim of a mugging but reported there was no visible trauma on Dr. Que although his wallet was missing. He died four weeks later and the Dade County medical examiner ruled it was caused by cardiac arrest.
Dr. Set Van Nguyen:
In the January, 2001 issue of the magazine Nature it was reported that two scientists at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research facility in Geelong had used genetic manipulation and DNA sequencing to create a virulent form of mousepox, which is a near cousin of smallpox. Nature raised concerns that a similar manipulation of the smallpox virus would create a version of smallpox that could be used for biowarfare or bioterrorism.
Dr. Vladimir Pasechnik:
Dr. Pasechnik defected from the former Soviet Union to Great Britain while on a trip to Paris. He had been the top scientist for the Soviet Union’s bioweapons program. That program reportedly involved DNA sequencing. After his defection he worked for ten years in the Centre for Applied Microbiology and Research in the UK Department of Health in Salisbury, England.
Dr. Victor Korshunov:
Dr. Korshunov was head of the microbiology sub-facility at the Russian State Medical University in Moscow. While there Dr. Korshnov invented vaccines to protect against several biological weapons which had been previously developed at that facility.
Dr. Ian Langford:
Dr. Langford was a senior researcher at the University of East Anglia. Like the others, he was a respected authority in DNA sequencing theory.
Five Additional Microbiologists:
The FBI does not know with certainty whether these microbiologists were involved in DNA sequencing research. However the University of Novosibirsk’s School of Medicine, which they were en route to visit, is well known for its advanced research into DNA sequencing. This is THE REAL TRUTH ! |
